 The Outing Club has an exciting new opportunity and we need your help to make it happen. Our ten-year lease with the Kearsarge Regional School District, giving us exclusive use of the former middle school gym, stage area, a large activity room and the playing fields during after school hours, weekends and vacation periods, begins soon. We will open our new indoor facility, the Outing Club Indoor Center -“OCIC” on Monday, March 3, 2008!
A full schedule of activities is organized, including Gym and Activity Room “Open” time use by youth, teens, adults and families; basketball, badminton, volleyball; indoor youth tennis instruction, a Teen Center, and much more. The added playing fields will allow expansion of our baseball, lacrosse and soccer programs, and allow for new outdoor activity offerings.
In order to make the former middle school spaces fully useable we took a $200,000 bank loan to repair and restore these facilities. The KRMS has used these refurbished facilities since last fall, and the KRES-NL will use them during the school day giving our elementary students there a gym og their own.
To date, we have made capital improvements of $150,000 from the bank loan account, and expect to expend another $50,000 for the purchase of equipment and additional construction work related to our new activities. This bank loan must be repaid.
We have already raised $120,000. We need your help to raise the remaining $80,000 to complete the funding for this community project.
A gift of $500 buys an equipment cart with 10 basketballs and 6 volleyballs, or a ping-pong table, or a TV with DVD and CD player. A gift of $100 pays for one of the 60 tons of special clay that was used to rebuild the baseball diamond infield. A gift of $50 pays for four square feet of the new gymnasium floor. The Outing Club is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Any donation you make is fully tax-deductible.
This is a unique opportunity for The Outing Club to significantly expand its traditional activities and add important new indoor programs to serve a broader cross section of all towns in our Kearsarge community.
