BOB ANDREWS MEMORIAL SOCCER JAMBOREE

This annual event for 3rd and 4th Grade boys and girls soccer teams will occur on October 9th (Rain date October 10) at our Woodward Park fields.  The following teams will play in one of two brackets in the morning Girl's Division, beginning at 9:30am or the afternoon Boy's Division, beginning at 1:30pm:

Bob Andrews - 1960-2006

Bob Andrews was born on Sept. 26, 1960 in Point Pleasant, N.J. He spent his early years in Bay Head, NJ and moved to New London in 1968. He was highly dedicated to youth in sports and recreational opportunities for all ages in our community.

Bob, as a former local high school athlete, collegiate soccer athlete, long time KRHS Women's Head Soccer Coach, middle-school teacher and the first full-time Recreational Director of the Town of New London, was a fixture in our community. His willingness, enthusiasm and expertise in motivating, teaching and coaching was exceptional.

His relationship with the NLOC, as a youth participant followed by a volunteer coach and leader, and finally his cooperative spirit coordinating New London Recreation Department activities at the NLOC was admired and appreciated by all.

The Bob Andrew's Memorial Soccer Jamboree was begun by The Outing Club to honor his memory and to provide a fun venue for soccer, as well as an opportunity to raise funds to endow our Bob Andrews Memorial Fund which provides scholarships to ensure that no child would be precluded from participating in a sport due to financial need, as well as to support The Outing Club's facilities.

To ensure the success of our program, we ask that all players, coaches and parents take the time to read and become familiar with our program's goals and expectations.

Coaches Guide, Goals and Player, Coach and Parents Expectations

All players, parents and coaches must also read and comply with our Code Of Conduct for Youth Sports.  Please download this form, read and review it with your player, sign the form as indicated and keep throughout the season.
